Just a mile away, you can find the Star Center - a fitness and recreation center. They offer a number of personal training classes like yoga, Zumba, power mix, cycling, mixed fit, and kendo. They also have plenty of youth activities, but the most popular is their state-of-the-art Treetops Playgrounds that includes three spaces and over 5,000 sq. feet of play space for different ages and interests; providing year round fun! Stretching between South Park and Oak Tree Park, South Tacoma’s Water Flume Line Trail offers the things that multi-use trail fans love. This 2.5 mile (one way) trail connects to other trails and is great for walkers, joggers and cyclists! Some upgrades were made to this trail in 2016 that included a shared-use path for bicycles and pedestrians, ADA compliant curb ramps, new storm drains, pedestrian crossing marking, a traffic signal upgrade, and trail user amenities, pedestrian level lighting, benches, signs, and bike racks.

Commuting north? Consider parking and riding or walking to the Sounder Train, less than 2 miles away to the commuter rail station. It’s convenient, cheap (about $5 to ride) and less of a hassle than sitting in I-5 traffic for events or commuting! It will put you into downtown Tacoma, Seattle and a few places in between. And if you need to drive, freeway access to I-5 is just a minute away.
