With it’s big corner lot, covered patio and fully fenced backyard, this sweet updated rambler is ideal for someone who enjoys the outdoors. A detached garage and large storage shed offer room for all of your gardening tools & toys. The location is also convenient, with Pacific Lutheran University sitting less than a mile away. McChord AFB is also close, and the 512 onramp (providing access to I-5 and Hwy 167) is just one minute away.
If you’re looking for adventures beyond your own backyard, Spanaway Lake is open year round and offers good harvest opportunity for stocked rainbow trout. Spanaway Lake has some of the best fishing for rock bass in the area. The 135-acre park along beautiful Spanaway Lake is extremely popular with many year-round activities. Visitors to the park can explore a multitude of aquatic recreation opportunities, including two swimming beaches (no lifeguards), a boat launch, and a fishing pier. If you’d rather stay dry, there’s a new picnic area by the south swimming beach, ADA playground equipment with a seating plaza for parents and a new three mile trail system by Little Spanaway Lake.
Lake Spanaway Golf Course borders the lake. From the red tees at just over 5,600 yards to the tips at 7014, it is a classic course that appeals to the novice player but also challenges the best players in the region. Lake Spanaway is truly a wonderful golf experience with its Old growth Douglas firs, well placed bunkers and large greens. For winter play, Lake Spanaway has a reputation as one of the driest most playable public courses in the area.
Enjoy a tranquil forest setting, on the adjacent Bresemann Forest Trail, a 1.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Another fun stop between the house and Spanaway Lake is Gonyea Playfield. This cozy neighborhood park has multi-purpose baseball, softball and soccer fields with play equipment, basketball courts, a hard surface play area and restrooms.
Just up the street is a QFC for groceries and Mazalatan Mexican Restaurant and Andale for authentic mexican food! For lunch (or happy hour!) head up the street to 208 Garfield a local beer/wine bar with a great menu. Or, if you enjoy the nostalgia of old school burger joints then Lucky’s Drive in is for you!
For a special evening, try Marzano’s, a local favorite for Italian or the highly rated Citron European Bistro which offers French, German & other European fare (such as wiener schnitzel & beef bourguignon).
