The Eastside of Tacoma has a hidden gem - the Brass Lantern. If you shoot darts, this is the place to be! They reside in a remodeled space and are unique to other places in the area. Friendly staff in a very relaxed atmosphere and are always showing Seahawks games.
Some of the best food comes from hole-in-the-wall, locally owned places and you’ll find a place that is just that less than a mile away at Tacos Y Mariscos Nayarit, which translates to Tacos and Seafood, with the flavors of a small coastal town Nayarit, a small state in western Mexico. You’re gonna get authentic flavors, handmade tortillas, delicious tacos, large portions with affordable prices and they have margaritas!

The Lincoln District is just minutes away! The Lincoln International District is an incredible blend of historic buildings and cultural diversity and has a high Walkscore. Don’t let the current construction work keep you from visiting this neighborhood. When the work is completed in January 2018 this neighborhood will become even more pedestrian friendly. Find our more about the Lincoln District Streetscape Project here! Plenty of places to eat around here by local, family owned establishments and hard-to-find international items at several specialty markets. A major recreation attraction for Tacoma’s east side and south end is Stewart Heights Park. This park is most known for its large outdoor swimming pool and water slide in the summer months, but this park also features updated playing fields, skateboard park, and playground.
Less than two miles away, you’ll find Wapato Park - an urban park featuring a woodland area, a lake, walking trail, plus a historic pergola full of stunning and colorful. Wapato has a number of trails that you can walk to explore the park, including one circling the lake that is approx .9 miles in length and you can’t beat the beautiful setting of the lake and forest. It’s best and most popular feature though is the off leash dog park! The off leash dog area has a smaller area for puppers under 25 pounds, a space for larger pups and an upper dog area for all dogs. The park also provides waste bag stations and garbage bins to help keep the park clean. Water is also available for the pups, there’s a water faucet and bowl.
