Terraced backyard gives you breathing room from neighbors and overlooks the new paved Pipeline Trail for outdoor activities!

WHAT’S NEARBY

With the Stay At Home order in place, there isn’t much to see and do at the moment, but we wanted to share with you what’s around this Tacoma home, so you’ll know what to explore when we can all enjoy the outdoors again!

Just minutes away is McKinley Park, a part of Metroparks of Tacoma and one of Tacoma’s first parks in 1901, is just a few blocks away with 26+ acres sporting tree lined hiking trails and a 7-acre dog park for walking dogs. It also has 2 playgrounds with new equipment & a pond. This park boasts four streams and four wetlands. The largest of the wetlands was enhanced and expanded. It is considered a wetland of local significance by the City of Tacoma and provides many valuable benefits to the community. The park is kept up by the Friends of McKinley Park - volunteer natural area sponsors for this park. They help existing park service with litter pickup and removal, invasive plant removal, native plant planting, organized work parties and more.

Best Happy Hour and Weekend Fare - Top of Tacoma is just a mile away and is a fun bar/tavern experience. It has some of the most unusual, unique and best tasting foods around. Definitely not your standard bar fare. Bonus - they have happy hours twice a day! And although they’re closed at the moment for dining in and enjoying their outdoor seating, you can order takeout like their Bluey Lewis Chicken Sandwich, Turkey Burger with Truffle Aioli, and other delicious burger and sandwich combos (check their Facebook page for updates daily!)

The Lincoln District is just minutes away! The Lincoln International District is an incredible blend of historic buildings and cultural diversity and has a high Walkscore. Plenty of places to order takeout around here by local, family owned establishments and hard-to-find international items at several specialty markets. The Lincoln District also celebrates the TET New Year Festival – check their Facebook page for more info on the date of this event, which generally occurs in February. Get tacos, burritos, homemade tortillas & fresh made salsa at El Antojo of Tacoma. If you’re looking for 2.5 pounds of crab, crawfish, sausage, clams, shrimp, corn and potatoes to devour with a little kick to it, then head to Dragon’s Crawfish. Get the best bubble tea around at BAMBU Coffee and Tea. They also have some unique desserts like passionfruit and lychee macarons, pandan waffles with Thai tea ice cream or guava cake.

You’ll be happy to know that the Eastside of Tacoma just got a Community Center - brand new (opened 10/20), spacious pool that’s great for laps, there’s a fun slide, diving board, spray features, climbing wall, water vortex, hot tub, aqua zip and more. You can book pool parties, partake in some water exercise and swimming lessons AND it’s affordable! Playing in the water isn’t the only thing you can do here; they also have a Metronome Coffee shop, basketball court, recording studio, training kitchen, social hall, fitness area and a dance room. While this new center is focusing on safe space for youth to go, it will serve the entire community. More info on how the Eastside Community Center came to be. (temporarily closed, check their website for updates)

The Eastside Farmers Market is back open again! Now through August on Tuesdays from 3 - 7 PM, you can get fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, honey, berries, handmade goods and more! All shoppers are required to wear a mask at this time, along with only one person entering per household.
