FROM THE SELLER
A little from the sellers about the location, and what they’ll miss about the neighborhood -
“Two things that come to mind are the backyard and the charming character of the house. Being in the backyard during the summer is one of my favorite memories of living here. Sitting under the gentle sway of the magnolia tree and watching the sunset paint St. Joe’s hospital in magnificent shades of pink, red, and purple into the evening is nothing short of magical. Having grown up in mostly new construction, I’ve never lived somewhere with this much character. This house is over 100 years old, and has been through quite a bit! However, the longer we lived here and worked to bring it back to life, the more we uncovered it’s soul and discovered the warmth of the house. From the gentle creaks of the stairs to the colored fish scales near the roof, this house is bursting with charm at every inch. It is abundantly clear to me that this house really wants to be a home. I’ll miss the feeling of being a part of its story.”
“The magnolia tree in our backyard blooms in the spring, producing beautiful pink flowers. Every year we await their return!”
“I love our location because we have such great access to all of Tacoma. As people who value walkability and access to transit, we couldn’t have picked a better spot. Our location is easily walkable to Hilltop, downtown, and Stadium. Some of our favorite places like Red Elm Cafe, Zodiac Supper Club, and 1111 are just a few short blocks away. The Tacoma Link Station will be arriving 1 block away from our house next year, which will connect us to all of downtown Tacoma. For the times we need to leave the city, we have nearly instant access to Tacoma Dome Station and I-5. Since we work in Seattle occasionally, it’s pretty much the perfect spot.”
“Red Elm Cafe is our go to spot for coffee and breakfast. Their bacon cheddar waffles are amazing and the owners are so friendly and wonderful. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants and bars, and I have to say that 1022 S. J has the best cocktail program in Washington. It’s a real treasure to have in the neighborhood!”
