The playground and splash pad are currently closed at Franklin Park, but if you need to get out for some fresh air, this community park is just minutes away and covers an area of more than 20 acres. There’s also a community garden that provides both physical and social benefits for people in the neighborhood. You can also find plenty of open fields to play in, a walking trail, ample parking, a basketball park, a playground, restrooms, and a picnic shelter. And on the rare occasion that Tacoma sees snowfall, this park has some mild hills that are used for sledding.

Art on the Ave is an annual music and art festival hosted by the 6th Ave Business District, Tacoma WA's Most Eclectic District, along 6th Avenue.

"I will miss the private patio in summer and the native hummingbirds that nest in the camellia. The yard is fully landscaped with flowering trees including native service berry trees and a dogwood, a hedge of lilacs, a mature camellia that arches over a garden path, a stunning horse chestnut tree anchoring the backyard, and an heirloom pear tree in the front. Our block planted large street trees in 2020. The 6th Ave. neighborhood comes together every summer for Art on the Ave to celebrate local artisans and craftspeople of Tacoma with a large street fair and several stages of live music."

"I will miss the half-mile (7 blocks) walk to 6th Ave. dining and the neighborhood park (Franklin). The house is perfectly central to nightlife, downtown, the North End, and convenient shopping centers."
