When you're ready for adventure, there are a couple of places where you can opt outside and enjoy a bit of fresh air! The Cushman Trailhead is only a minute away on your bike or by car, and will take you all the way across the Narrows Bridge and into Gig Harbor. Another option is Titlow Park, just down the hill from this home. Titlow has the most incredible views of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, evening walks along the 1.3 mile beach front and forest route and some splendid sunsets. This is also a haven for kayakers for an easy launch and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see some playful seals and occasional orca pods. Further to the North is Point Defiance, just a 10 minute car ride or a bit longer on your bike. Point Defiance Park is a large urban park that covers over 700 acres of land and is home to attractions such as the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, the Point Defiance Rose Garden, and the Point Defiance Japanese Garden.

About 5-minutes Southwest, you'll find Boathouse 19, one of the best places to grab a bite on the water! What will you miss most about living in this house?
Beautiful view of Bay and Olympic Mountains and the amazing sunsets highlighting both. The morning light coming through the four high Eastern facing dormer windows. The expansive high ceilings in all rooms including the lower story. Large windows throughout to take advantage of the wonderful light. The lower floor is sprung on lumber joists with crawl space beneath, so no concrete under floors anywhere. Great storage spaces on both floors. Pantry with work area and own wIndow. Lower level living area set up with separate keying for guests (and a second laundry!) Front porch has room for bistro table and chairs as well as our multi person swinging bench.

What have you enjoyed about this location?
Easy access to parks, recreation, entertainment, fine dining and freeway. Wonderful neighbors in a great neighborhood. Titlow Park, Point Defiance Park, Jefferson Park and many others are nearby. Dinner on our own deck with your choice of drinks and your own gas BBQ – so no need to ever fill up the tanks!

Anything we should know about your yard or neighborhood?
Our Dogwood Trees and Japanese Snowbell Trees give an amazing display every spring and the smell of the Mock Orange and Snowbell tree is exquisite. Blueberry bushes keep us in blueberries in season. Our Hydrangeas last from spring through fall and the color never disappoints, starting blue and changing to lavender before turning brown for the winter. The fenced yard has four gates which allow for easy access to and from any part of the property. Our neighbors within a 1 block radius have had a great block party BBQ every year.

If you were having lunch or dinner out near home, where would you go? And what's your favorite menu item there?
Anthony's Home Port. We Love the fish and chips, the Charcuterie Plate, Alder Plank Wild Caught Salmon. Great food and great atmosphere with inside and outside view dining. Antique Soup and Sandwich has a great vibe for lunch and has a wonderful soda fountain and yummy desserts. Favorite sandwich there is Mushroom and Melted Cheese on Rye.
