The Gift that Launched a Neighborhood

Through the donation, restoration and future sale of several unused residential properties, MultiCare Health System and Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity have partnered in a project that will eventually provide as many as 11 affordable homes. Windermere Abode is honored to participate in this project by selling the restored homes at cost. The proceeds from these sales will fund a neighborhood of affordably priced homes for future Habitat homeowners.

The first home offered for sale is 417 S M Street, a gracious 3 bed, 2.25 bath Foursquare that has been brought back to life by Habitat staff & community volunteers. Learn more about this home by clicking here.

“The goal of this project is to sell the refurbished historical houses and leverage the proceeds to build a new neighborhood of Habitat homes in Pierce County – creating stability and self-reliance for up to 11 families through affordable homeownership. The value of this home will change another’s life.” - Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity

“The Habitat home buying process can change a life - it can break the cycle of poverty. It is a powerful thing to witness.” - Elliot Stockstad CDO Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity
