Popular amongst avid bike riders, runners and walkers, the five mile Scott Pierson Trail is less than a mile away. This trail runs parallel to State Route 16, and has breathtaking views of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and the Puget Sound. You can find it off North Pearl Street, under the overpass of WA-16, before North 9th Street.
New to Tacoma is the Central Co-op on Pearl Street - you’ll find specialized fresh, organic, and local foods + supplements. They have an amazing meat & seafood selection. If you’re cutting back on household waste, you’ll love their huge bulk section!
There’s no shortage of getting out and about around here - parks galore! 9 minutes away is Point Defiance Park and Zoo. Also home to 5 mile drive running and walking trails, Owen Beach where you can rent kayaks in the summer and the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum – crafts from the past, summer camps and family fun nights! Just don’t forget to stop at the famous Antique Sandwich Company for a homemade sandwich, milkshake or a slice of yummy pie for a picnic in the park or on the beach.
