Remembering the Fallen this Memorial Day

As a strong military community, the South Sound hosts a number of annual events to commemorate Memorial Day. Here are a few opportunities to honor our fallen soldiers on Monday, May 27th:

Memorial Day Ceremony at Tahoma National Cemetery

The Tahoma National Cemetery will be celebrating its 15th Memorial Day at 1:00pm on Monday, May 27th. The event will be honoring veterans and is open to the public to attend the ceremony.

Joint Services Day at Mountainview Cemetery

Mountain View National Park and the Pierce County Veterans Advisory Council is holding a joint ceremony to pay honor and tribute to all the men and women who have died serving our country. The ceremony is at 2:00pm on Monday, May 27th.

wear blue run to remember Memorial Run at Powderworks Park

The wear blue run to remember organization is holding an in-person event for Memorial Day in dozens of places across the country. For people close to Join Base Lewis-McChord, the event will be at Powderworks Park in DuPont and will start at 8:00am.

Memorial Day Observance at War Memorial Park

Each year on Memorial Day, Tacoma Historical Society sponsors a service at War Memorial Park. This year’s service will start at 11:00am, May 27th.
