We all need a little fresh air right now - thankfully there are a few ways you can do that safely! 2 miles away, you’ll find Wapato Park - an urban park featuring a woodland area, a lake, walking trail, plus a historic pergola full of stunning and colorful. Wapato has a number of trails that you can walk to explore the park, including one circling the lake that is approx .9 miles in length and you can’t beat the beautiful setting of the lake and forest. South Tacoma’s Water Flume Line Trail offers the things that multi use trail fans love. This 2.5 mile (one way) trail connects to other trails and is great for walkers, joggers and cyclists! Some upgrades were made to this trail in 2016 that included a shared-use path for bicycles and pedestrians, ADA compliant curb ramps, new storm drains, pedestrian crossing marking, a traffic signal upgrade, and trail user amenities pedestrian level lighting, benches, signs, and bike racks.
