We just shared more than $15,000 in Windermere Foundation funds with three local nonprofits who are working to lift up our community. If you’re not familiar, Windermere Abode brokers make a donation to the Foundation fund on every transaction they close. At the end of the year, most of that money comes back to us to be distributed into our community. Thank you for helping us give back! We wanted to share a little bit about the three organizations we chose to support this year. Read on to learn more:
Valeo Vocation is dedicated to ending homelessness by providing people with pathways to full-time employment and permanent housing. They introduce people to work opportunities to earn a wage and escape unemployment and homelessness, case management to navigate support systems, and supportive services to enhance success in their jobs. By partnering with local businesses to create job placements, they offer a sustainable solution to workforce shortages while empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.
The Stone Soup Collaborative is addressing hunger and food insecurity within the community by providing nutritious meals and fostering community connections. They create a welcoming space where people can share meals, build relationships, and find support in times of need. Through collaboration with local partners, they offer sustainable food solutions that prioritize dignity and empowerment. This encourages community involvement, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest (AIDNW) is dedicated to supporting immigrants detained at the Northwest ICE Processing Center and asylum seekers. They provide compassionate assistance during and after detention, helping people stay connected with loved ones through phone funds, visitations, and pen pal programs. After being released, can visit their Welcome Center for food, clothing, travel assistance, and temporary housing if needed. AIDNW works to relieve isolation and anxiety and connect people with community resources for their new lives.
