Abode Lakewood's 2nd Annual Give for Good Drive (Part 1)

Here at Abode, we believe in the immense power of giving back to our neighbors and local families. As we approach the holiday season, we are excited to kick off our annual Give for Good Drive! For the first leg of our drive this year, we will be making contributions to the Mid-County Community Center (MCCC), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that plays a vital role in supporting the lives of local senior residents. MCCC has been serving the local seniors in Pierce County for over 30 years. They offer a secure environment where older adults can participate in activities, programs, and services that enrich their experiences and interests. MCCC seeks to strengthen the mental and physical well being of their local seniors and promote a life of independence, quality social interaction and friendships.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items to support Mid-County Community Center’s established food bank program.

When it comes to food donations, think about non-perishable items that can provide nourishment and sustenance. Some excellent options include:

• Canned vegetables and fruits

• Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, and beans)

• Dry beans and lentils

• Rice and pasta

• Pasta sauce

• Boxed Meals

• Pet food (canned and dry)

• Cooking oils

• Canned or powdered milk

• Gluten-free and allergy-friendly items

• Whole grain cereal and oatmeal

• Canned soups

• Granola bars

• Dried herbs and spices

• Nutritional drink supplements

• Their seniors love their treats, so any candy, cookies, etc. are always well received

These items are versatile, have a longer shelf life, and can go a long way in helping families in need.

If you would like to make a contribution to the first leg of our Give for Good Drive, please donate non-perishable food items to our Lakewood office beginning October 30th through November 20th.
