FROM THE SELLER
“We’ll miss watching and hearing the many bird varieties that nest in the trees and bushes around our house. The light hitting the pines, and the peace and quiet in the mornings. We also like the quiet street; many neighbors walk and are friendly to chat to.”
“Close proximity to the dog park, tennis courts, club house and the many trails throughout Alderbrook. And of course the golf course right out the back yard!”
“When dining out we favor the clubhouse. They have a wonderful menu, friendly staff and the view is breathtaking.”
ABOUT LIVING IN ALDERBROOK
What a serene place to call home! Surrounded by mountains full with evergreen and cedar trees and lush greenery and pristine waters along the Hood Canal. Many people book vacations here to escape the bustle of city life, but here you get to live in pure relaxation all the time. Whether you’re hitting the trails, spending the day on the golf course, enjoying date night at the clubhouse or booking a spa day, you’ll never be far from taking it easy.
The Alderbrook Circular is one of the most popular trails in the area for residents. The trail is only 2.4 miles long, but it’s a chance to slow down, enjoy nature and see wildlife that frequents the area. The trail is good for all skill levels and offers spectacular views of the mountains and water.
The Alderbrook Resort & Spa dates back to 1913. Visitors came by steamship and would either stay in cabins and tents. Generations of families continue to come back year after year. The resort is fully restored with modern amenities, but some things remain the same, like all ages competing in stone skipping competitions. When guests check in, they receive a flat stone to skip along the south shores of Alderbrook. The maximum skips determine the winner and apparently the best score to beat is 9 skips.
There’s so much to do here that you could easily spend your days choosing your own adventure like kayaking, tennis, boating, cycling, hiking, walking, clam digging, bird watching (eagles are frequent guests catching fish out of the canal), take the dog to the dog park or just putting around doing much of nothing catching the sunset every evening. There’s also a jacuzzi at the resort that looks out into the canal and Olympic Mountains.
Get pampered at the spa! The spa offers a sauna, steam room and a relaxation room, along with deep tissue massages, hot stone massages and aromatherapy to help get you in a fully relaxed state of mind.
Grab your friends and hit up the Alderbrook Golf and Yacht Club! This course is very well maintained, has evergreen lined fairways, offers 5 sets of tees and is enjoyable no matter what skill set you have. Then stop in for lunch at the Clubhouse Restaurant for fish & chips, burger, or a Caesar salad. You can also get a pack lunch for your day trips that includes a deli sandwich, chips, apple, beverage, pickle and a cookie!
The Union City Market is located inside of a historic working marina and is open year round offering local foods, art and gifts. You can even savor local food at the Hook & Fork pop-up style dining market.
If you need to get up to Seattle, go through Bremerton and catch the Southworth - Fauntleroy ferry, just 2 hours away.
