FROM THE SELLER
A little from the sellers about the location, where to eat, what they’ll miss and about the neighborhood -
“I loved summers with all the doors and windows open, growing veggies in the garden, and sipping cold Rosé under the pergola on warm evenings. This home was such a perfect nest for our little family and each room was able to evolve with us. The upstairs was my office, then our bedroom, then our son’s nursery. We love the neighborhood so much we moved just a block away!”
“We love walking to 6th Ave for appetizers and drinks, or for a cone of Ice Cream Social ice cream. We walk to Franklin Park with our son in the summer to play on the playground and run through the splash pad. It’s super easy to zip onto I-5 at Sprague. And Target is a dangerously quick drive. We love taking evening walks through the neighborhood with our dog!”
“Living so close to 6th Ave, we like to frequent several of the amazing restaurants there! The Red Hot has an amazing craft beer selection, Ice Cream Social is the best ice cream in town hands-down (my fave: Almond Poppyseed), Asado is great for a fancy date night (or just drinks and apps in their bar, for a more affordable outing), DOA is a great spot for brunch or dinner (the Chicken and Waffles is unreal), and if you’re up for some Tacos hit up El Borracho, their tacos are great and I dig the Jalapeno Margarita!”
“If you like home brewing beer, you will have an endless supply of hops, as we have a huge plant that climbs over the entire pergola, as well as one that climbs up next to the front gate. The little trees out front are apple trees.”
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT WHAT’S NEARBY
With the Stay At Home order in place, there isn’t much to see and do at the moment, but we wanted to share with you what’s around this Tacoma home, so you’ll know what to explore when we can all enjoy the outdoors again!
All the restaurants mentioned above, except for the Red Hot are open for take out. El Borracho has varying hours, but you’ll never miss a Taco Tuesday with their tacos and cocktails to go noon to 10 PM daily. Asado are doing things a little differently, you can either order their menu items to go, or they’re offering curated BBQ Kits for you to feel like the Top Chef of your backyard. If you’re missing your weekend brunch spots, Dirty Oscars Annex misses you too. They’ve got hashes, chicken fried steak, moco loco, stuffed pancakes and lots of things smothered in gravy to lift your spirits. And if you need your spirits lifted a little higher, they’re also serving cocktails, champs, mules and margaritas. And don’t forget the ice cream! Ice Cream Social is slinging pints of fresh, creamy goodness. Their seasonal lavender is back, or try blueberry, coconut valhalla coffee, mango sorbet and more. They also have waffle cones or waffle bits to go to enjoy too!
The playground and splash pad are currently closed at Franklin Park, but if you need to get out for some fresh air, it’s just minutes away and covers an area of more than 20 acres. There’s also a community garden that provides both physical and social benefits for people in the neighborhood. You can also find plenty of open fields to play in, a walking trail, ample parking, basketball park, a playground, restrooms and a picnic shelter. And on the rare occasion that Tacoma sees snow fall, this park has some mild hills that are used for sledding.
We’re all missing sitting in our favorite coffee shops right now, but you can still support your favorite roasters from home! Manifesto Coffee Roasters is still serving their fresh roasted single-origin coffee Monday - Saturday from 9 AM - 4 PM.
If you’re in need of essential items, both Target and Fred Meyer are just a couple minutes away and Costco is 8 minutes away.
