FROM THE SELLER
A little from the sellers about the location, and what they’ll miss about the neighborhood -
“We’ll miss this quiet neighborhood with minimal traffic. Kids, adults, and dogs often walk the neighborhoods keeping to the out of city feel. Private back yard for grilling, entertaining, and having an evening fire with drinks. Lots of natural light throughout the house with large windows and the sun rising to the master bedroom side.
“Nearby we like visiting 5 mile lake with basketball courts, tennis, lake, walking trails, BBQ grills with picnic tables. Few walking trails and grass to enjoy. Edgewood is just down Military Rd with Safeway for groceries along with several fast food locations, restaurants, and shops. Never have to go far. Costco is a 5 min drive. Centrally located with access to I-5 (5 min), 167 (5 min), and highway 18 (5 min). Access to Puyallup without ever hitting the highway.”
“ A few places we love when dining out are Time Out Ale House in Federal Way, where we generally enjoy the club sandwich and the burgers. Close by and a little fancier is The Mill in Edgewood. Oliver’s Sandwiches in Edgewood is my favorite and I get anything with jalapeños on it!”
“I would say my favorite part about the neighborhood is how quiet and friendly everyone is. We are often out front washing cars, working on our motorcycles, etc and can chat with the neighbors who walk by. I think we are the loudest ones riding our dirt bikes around the block, ha! This street is by far the least busy. Almost all of the neighborhood has been living in the area for a long time. Not many moving out of the area.”
WHAT’S NEARBY
There’s so many parks close to this home, you’ll never be short of somewhere to go to get outside! West Hylebos Wetlands Park is a large, lush park with a network of trails & boardwalks through wetlands (no dogs or bikes allowed). 120 acres of unique old growth forest and wetlands in the heart of Federal Way. These wetlands are equal parts wildlife refuge, ecological and hydrological conservatory, nature trail, and pure natural wonder. One of the last remaining bogs in South King County, the Hylebos Wetlands is easy to reach and explore.
Another favorite park to visit is Steel Lake Park, less than 7 miles away. This 52-acre, lakeside park offers a playground & volleyball pit, plus live summertime concerts - otherwise known as the Federal Way Family Funland! This park offers fun for everyone, including those with disabilities as it offers the nation’s first AbilityWhirl, an innovative wheelchair roundabout that allows two kids in wheelchairs and their attendants to ride.
Take advantage of being close to the Pacific Bonsai Museum - a collection that boasts over 100 bonsai trees from China, Japan, Canada, Korea, Taiwan & America. From now until September 30th, take in the special exhibit Living Art of Bonsai: Elements of Design. It breaks down major design elements of bonsai art. Make a day out of it by also visiting the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden - a vast garden with a variety of rhododendrons & azaleas, plus seasonal & perennial plants & blossoms.
Commuters will enjoy that the Sound Transit Auburn Station is just 14 minutes away - goes to Lakewood and up to Seattle.
