FROM THE SELLERS
“We’ll miss the location and history! Being less than two blocks from three different parks and playgrounds (Neighbors Park, People’s Park and Wright Park) is incredible. Neighbors Park even has a community garden. We also love walking down to 1022 (our favorite bar) for drinks countless times over the years (all the drinks are good, but you must order the southern chicken and biscuit sandwich). The proximity to Corina Bakery means we are never far from amazing sweets, and Manifesto Coffee is also a short walk away for the best beans and coffee in the neighborhood. Broken Spoke for a beer and haircut is also a fun option.”
“We are within walking distance of the Stadium District and several schools. The 8th & I Community Group organizes a few events during the year (to include Christmas caroling) which are always enjoyable and a great opportunity to hang out with the neighbors! Aside from location, we love the unique beauty and personality of this house.”
“Besides our block, there’s nothing like it in Tacoma. It is on the Tacoma Historic Registry which is a great resource to utilize for continued updates while maintaining its historic integrity. Even the clawfoot tub is originally cast in Tacoma. We love how friends and family congregate around the island and bar in the kitchen, and the extra wide doorways make it a perfect space for entertaining. We love cozying up in the living room with the fireplace glowing, which is extra charming during the holidays! It has been a blessing and honor to be a steward of this house for the last 10+ years, and we are certainly sad to leave it…but hope it finds a family that loves and cares for it as much as we have, and will continue to maintain its status in the city of Tacoma.”
WHAT’S NEARBY
If your lifestyle includes getting out and about to parks, even in the cooler months, then you just might discover that Wright Park could become your favorite go-to spot. It’s just minutes away and ideal for a leisurely stroll. The park is very popular in the summer months as it offers a free sprayground. Families and groups appreciate the space, playground and plenty of picnic tables for summertime fun. This 27-acre arboretum is home to a rich collection of more than 600 trees - stunning in both the spring & summer when they’re ample and bright green, and impressive in the fall as they change from green to all the fall colors. And if Tacoma should see any snow this year, dress in layers, grab your sled and hit the park for a little sledding fun! WW Seymour Conservatory is a community treasure, hosting events throughout the year and a rotating assortment of seasonal flowers.
