2 BEDROOM HOME IN SOUTH TACOMA

Your FIRST HOME is more than just a transaction. You’ll always remember this moment in life when you finally acquired your own little piece of paradise. It’s the small things--brewing fresh beans from Wolfe Club Coffee in YOUR kitchen, watching the bluebells sprout up near the hydrangea in the spring, grabbing the pup on a Sunday morning and enjoying a day at Wapato Park, or finally having a proper back yard for BBQs in the summer! It’s no secret though, the work of maintaining a home can be costly. Unless you find a home that was FULLY UPDATED in 2019, that should alleviate some of that financial stress. Imagine a world where you could find a TURN-KEY home in Tacoma, under $400K, and all you need to do is pick the furniture...sound nice?

FROM THE SELLERS

“I will miss the “homie-ness” of the property. The house is over 100 years old and it aged beautifully, leaving you with a sense of nostalgia and beauty. A majority of the neighborhood are retired individuals so the neighborhood is very established and tight-knit.

Tulips and roses grow wonderfully in the soil here! The hydrangea in the backyard blooms with beautiful blue flowers in the spring and summer, and bluebells that sprout in the backyard too near the hydrangea. It makes the yard smell so sweet. The front yard has Lily of the valley, two Edith Darling rose bushes and one hydrangea.

There is a fire station and a police department down the street. Wapato Park and Charlotte’s Blueberry Park are nearby and both are beautiful. Fred Meyer is right next to us so getting groceries is a breeze. We LOVE that we are only 5-10 minutes from downtown Tacoma. We are in a very central location. Only 20 minutes to JBLM if you’re military, and 30 minutes from the airport. Aside from being a short 10 min drive from everything. The neighbors are friendly and always wave hello and are always willing to give a helping hand. The Lincoln District is so close! Gari of Sushi is spot on every time and a short walk to get boba afterward.

We would head downtown to eat at places like The Koi, or have a drink at the Zodiac Supper Club - all are within 10 minutes of the house.”

WHAT’S NEARBY

Check out Wolfe Club Coffee Roasters, a drive-thru coffee in Tacoma. Family-owned & proudly independent. Coffee roasted FRESH on-site, ingredients made in-house. Need an extra surge for the day? Then be sure to try their fresh-made energy brew called Prayers. It’s made with flowers, green coffee, a high caffeine tea blend, natural fruit oils and sweetened with honey.

Two and a half miles away, you’ll find Wapato Park - an urban park featuring a woodland area, a lake, a walking trail, plus a historic pergola full of stunning and colorful scenery. Wapato has a number of trails that you can walk to explore the park, including one circling the lake that is approx .9 miles in length and you can’t beat the beautiful setting of the lake and forest. Its best and most popular feature though is the off-leash dog park! The off-leash dog area has a smaller area for pups under 25 pounds, a space for larger pups, and an upper dog area for all dogs. The park also provides waste bag stations and garbage bins to help keep the park clean. Water is also available for the pups, there’s a water faucet and bowl.

This coming summer you can enjoy prime blueberry picking season at Charlotte’s Blueberry Park - 5 minutes away off East D Street, you’ll find more than 3,372 bushes, representing five varieties of blueberry, producing fruit. Picking season typically runs from July through September each year.

The Lincoln District is just minutes away! The Lincoln International District is an incredible blend of historic buildings and cultural diversity and has a high Walk Score. Don’t let the current construction work keep you from visiting this neighborhood. When the work is completed in January 2018 this neighborhood will become even more pedestrian-friendly. Find out more about the Lincoln District Streetscape Project here! Plenty of places to eat around here by local, family-owned establishments and hard-to-find international items at several specialty markets. The Lincoln District also celebrates TET New Year Festival – check their Facebook page for more info on the date of this event, which generally occurs in February.

On the corner of S Yakima Ave and S 38th St is Vien Dong – an authentic Vietnamese, family-owned restaurant that hits the spot with its delicious pho, curry, and noodle dishes! If you’re craving a burger, shake, and fries – you have two to choose from and they sit across the street from each other, Jubilee Burger and Burger Ranch. Both are equally popular and delicious.

Have a hankering for authentic sushi, salads, tempura, teriyaki, and more? Then you’ll love being close to such delicious food at Gari of Sushi! Traditional rolls & sashimi, plus some unique rolls like the mermaid which is topped with seaweed salad. They also have a large vegetarian selection of rolls that are often hard to find. Everything arrives looking like a well-crafted work of art.

Refresh or cool down your palate with some of the best bubble tea around at BAMBU Coffee and Tea. They also have some unique desserts like passionfruit and lychee macarons, pandan waffles with Thai tea ice cream, or guava cake.

Just minutes from downtown Tacoma’s shopping, dining, entertainment, and museums.
