“I will miss my amazing neighbors. I will miss walking on the Mason Path and going to Jefferson Park every day. I will miss planning and enjoying my garden or hearing the birds in the Laurel Hedge. I will miss walking to Proctor or UPS campus to enjoy the sights.”
“I’ve enjoyed everything about this location. Jefferson Park, the Proctor District, being so close to Point Defiance, being able to walk to the store, my bank, and the post office. My neighbors, whom I have known and been supported by for 20 years. Being able to have people over and no problems parking. BBQ in the backyard, playing darts in the garage, having the RV right there, and running out of the awning to cook under it. Shopping on 6th Ave or walking to a few bars there, being close to University Place and Gig Harbor. Now there will even be a Winco right up the street! Great times here.”
When dining out nearby I’ve enjoyed El Toro, the fajitas or enchiladas, and a blended margarita!! We actually are not a family that eats out much. But we love to cook and between Tacoma Boys right up the road, Metropolitan Market, and Safeway, this is an excellent place to be a chef. On S. Tacoma Way there are a few amazing Asian grocery stores that are a must-visit for meat, vegetables, and seasoning. You have to try Stewart's Meat Market in Yelm, the Farmers Market downtown, or Proctor. Again Tacoma Boys for fish and Northern Fish. When people come from out of town we go to Harbor Lights or Anthony's, for sure. The Red Hot, Toast Mi, I mean the list goes on.”
“This is a fantastic neighborhood. If you take the time to know the neighbors here you will be so happy and feel so much more connected and secure. The garden plot in the back has drip irrigation and we will leave the parts and the manual. There is a strawberry patch back there and a few dahlias, and salvia that the hummingbirds love. The dirt is organic soil. We dug out all the existing dirt with a backhoe and replaced it, we never used pesticides, you can grow whatever you want back there we have had incredible yield.”
