The playground and splash pad are currently closed at Franklin Park, but if you need to get out for some fresh air, this community park is just minutes away and covers an area of more than 20 acres. There’s also a community garden that provides both physical and social benefits for people in the neighborhood. You can also find plenty of open fields to play in, a walking trail, ample parking, basketball park, a playground, restrooms and a picnic shelter. And on the rare occasion that Tacoma sees snow fall, this park has some mild hills that are used for sledding.

This home is also a half mile from the University of Puget Sound campus (one of the best spots for fall foliage & a cool summer breeze). Every spring UPS hosts a flea market with the Women’ League – you can find around 70+ vendors selling antiques, repurposed items, vintage, jewelry, bath and body goods, home decor, crafts, artwork, and food trucks! The $10 admission to get into the event, 100% of the proceeds go towards student scholarships. They also regularly host concerts and art exhibits.
