What’s Nearby
Practically in your backyard is Jefferson Park - enjoy the 15-acre community green area with a sprayground, sports fields & a field house, plus picnic tables, and room to get your furry friend out and about. On clear days you can see the peak of Mount Rainier.
Tacoma is full of parks and trails, but the most popular is the Mason Trail. This trail begins at N 9th Street near the corner of Jefferson Park and ends at N 27th Street. However if you continue along N. Mason Ave, then hang a left on N 37th Street, this will put you on N. Stevens Street. Follow that all the way down to N. 45th Street and you’ll have a pretty good view of Commencement Bay, Vashon Island and Maury Island. It’s 4 miles round trip and offers the best view of homes, gorgeous foliage on the trees in the fall, tons of cherry blossoms in the spring. Just between N. 24th Street and N. 26th on the trail is a fence that has the most colorful painting on it. The trail is loved by walkers, runners, groups, bikers and skaters.
This home is also less than a mile from the University of Puget Sound campus (one of the best spots for fall foliage & a cool summer breeze). Every spring UPS hosts a flea market with the Women’ League – you can find around 70+ vendors selling antiques, repurposed items, vintage, jewelry, bath and body goods, home decor, crafts, artwork and food trucks! The $10 admission to get into the event, 100% of the proceeds goes towards student scholarships. They also regularly host concerts and art exhibits.
