This podcast is the second of a series of Black History Month Reflections with local black and brown professionals in and around Tacoma. We're bringing conversations that we often have in private, out in the public. Be a fly on the wall as Dave chats with these great individuals as we wrap up Black History Month 2021.
Daryl Crews tends to be in the shadows, but make no mistake, he is a force in the entertainment industry. He has worked with Revolt, Alaska Airlines, VH1, and most recently is the curator of Apple Music's new Northwest HipHop Playlist.
Daryl, who was born to a mother from Sierra Leone (from the Creole tribe), and a "black" father, reflects on his upbringing, the history of where his family originates from, and how Africans are becoming a part of popular American entertainment culture.
